Respitality

Respitality (short for respite + hospitality) is a national initiative designed to give unpaid Carers a well-deserved break from their caring role. Stirling Carers Centre is proud to be an official delivery partner of the scheme.

Through Respitality, local businesses in the hospitality, tourism and leisure industries generously donate short breaks, day experiences or treats to unpaid Carers, completely free of charge. These can include:

  • Tickets to concerts, theatre shows or sports matches
  • Afternoon teas or meals out
  • Overnight stays or weekend getaways
  • Spa days and other relaxing experiences

Why Respitality Matters

Caring for someone can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also be physically and emotionally demanding. Carers need time out to rest and focus on their own wellbeing. Respitality offers Carers the chance to:

  • Take a break from daily responsibilities
  • Enjoy new experiences and make happy memories
  • Feel recognised and appreciated for their role
  • Reconnect with themselves or spend quality time with a friend or loved one

Our Local Partnerships

We recently piloted Respitality with the support of Stirling Albion FC, who kindly provided season tickets so Carers could enjoy live football matches. The response has been fantastic, and we’re excited to be expanding our local partnerships to offer even more opportunities.
