Experiences of Caring

Carer Stories Project

Welcome to the Carer Stories Project – a space dedicated to amplifying the voices of Carers from all walks of life.

Through personal stories shared in writing, video, audio, and art, this project celebrates the diverse experiences of those who care for others. Each story offers a glimpse into the ups and downs of caring, and we hope they help you feel a little more connected and a little less alone.

Your Story Matters

One of the things we hear time and again from Carers is how much it helps to hear what others are going through – how this encourages them and gives ideas for coping with their own situation.

Sharing your story with others can help them to see that they are not alone in what they are going through, but it also gives you a chance to speak about your experiences in your own voice.

We can include as much or as little information as you want, and we can do it anonymously if you prefer. We will show you the finished story before it is shared, and you can specify where it can and cannot be used.

This is about telling your story your way

  • If you are interested in sharing, we can work with you to tell your story in a way that you are comfortable with. This might be:

  • An article

  • A story

  • Poem

  • A piece of art

  • An audio recording

  • Animation

  • Or a video
