Community Engagement Officer
Three year fixed-term
- Hours: 28 hours per week – some evening and weekend work required
- Salary: £23,247 p/a
Stirling & Clackmannanshire Carers, formerly Stirling Carers Centre, is a well‑regarded and successful charity providing tailored information, advice, emotional and practical support to children, young people and adults who provide unpaid care to a relative or friend who, due to illness, disability, mental health conditions or addiction, could not manage without their help.
We are seeking a proactive, creative and enthusiastic Community Engagement Officer to lead the development, coordination and delivery of wellbeing activities and community engagement opportunities for unpaid carers across Stirling and Clackmannanshire.
This is a three-year fixed-term post, part funded through the National Lottery Community Fund. The post may be extended, subject to funding.
About the role
The Community Engagement Officer will coordinate and deliver a varied programme of wellbeing, therapeutic and social activities that improve carers’ physical health, emotional wellbeing, resilience and social connectedness. Working closely with carers, volunteers, community organisations and local partners, you will create accessible and inclusive opportunities that provide positive breaks from caring and help reduce social isolation.
Alongside delivering activities, you will build strong relationships within local communities, raise awareness of unpaid carers and identify opportunities for partnership working that benefit carers. You will gather feedback, monitor outcomes and help ensure services continue to respond to the changing needs of unpaid carers across both urban and rural communities.
About you
You are someone who can confidently organise activities, manage competing priorities and work independently when needed. You enjoy engaging with people, building positive relationships and bringing communities together. You are proactive, organised and comfortable taking the initiative to develop new ideas and opportunities.
You are an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a genuine commitment to supporting unpaid carers. You understand the importance of listening to people, involving them in shaping services and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes.
